The new qualification which is unique for Russia is available for the staff of Rosneft subsidiaries through the professional training program.
The company is a leading subsoil user on the Russian shelf. According to independent experts, the company’s license blocks hold over 275 bln boe of recoverable resources.
Offshore drilling today is a high-tech and complicated business. The beginning of large-scale Arctic shelf works means professionals with according background are in high demand and of special significance. At the initiative of Rosneft President Igor Sechin the Company together with the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas developed a certified Offshore Drilling Supervisor training program.
The one-year Offshore Drilling Supervisor training program is comprised of seven full-time two-week modules. The program envisages lectures with the Drilbert Engineering (U.S.) experts, well drilling management practice with original-size simulators as well as a two-week internship as an alternate drilling supervisor on drilling ships and platforms of Stena Drilling (Sweden).
Upon the completion of the course the staff will receive Drilling Management, IWCF and IADC WellCAP International Certificates.
To participate in the Offshore Drilling Supervisor program Rosneft subsidiaries selected 12 qualified drilling professionals from drilling and well construction and upgrade services.
