A new gas engine power plant (GEPP) of temporary power supply was launched at the Ust-Tegusskoe field that is being developed by RN-Uvatneftegaz. The power plant will allow to increase capacity of the Uvat project Eastern Development Centre and to ensure steady power supply of the oil and gas production facilities until the grid infrastructure is connected to the UES of Russia in 2018.
The GEPP's effective electric capacity is to reach 18 MW with maximum estimated capacity of 25 MW. The plant consumes about 200,000 cubic meters of gas per day which will raise the level of rational APG utilization.
At the moment, the Eastern Development Centre, which accounts for over 80% of RN-Uvatneftegaz's oil production, is developing five largest fields of the Uvat project - the Ust-Tegusskoe, the Urnenskoye, the Zapadno-Epasskoye, the Yuzhno-Gavrikovskoye and the Malyk fields. The new power plant launch will allow to accelerate the new fields development.
The power facilities construction is one of the key steps in the programme of the RN-Uvatneftegas works stable energy supplying. Earlier the second phase of gas turbine power plant with estimated capacity of 60 MWt was constructed and put into operation at the Ust-Tegusskoe field. It operates with APG as well. In order to develop energy potential, the construction of the project network infrastructure of total length more than 315 km of high-voltage power lines is being carried out. The new energy system will connect the oil mining assets and ensure their connection to the UES of Russia.
