A polylingual boarding school for 300 children was opened in Neftekamsk on September 1. It was fully renovated with the support of Bashneft (an enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company). The 2,300 square metres building was rebuilt and fitted with modern equipment within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between Rosneft and the Republic of Bashkortostan.
After 53 years of operation, the boarding school was declared unsafe and closed due to its severe deterioration. Bashkir oil workers fully rebuilt the school in two years.
The renovation included strengthening the supporting structures, installing a new roof, upgrading the water supply and ventilation systems, installing sealed glass windows and purchasing new ergonomic furniture.
The new facilities will allow the school to implement comprehensive educational programmes for inclusive development of students, including in-depth study of the Russian, English, German, Tatar and Bashkir languages. There are four language rooms for this purpose, all equipped with modern projection and sound equipment, which allows teaching languages in an interactive format. A number of applied subjects will also be taught in English.
A separate engineering class was established to teach students programming and design. Powerful computers, 3D printers and scanners, high-tech mechanical manipulators, and photo and video equipment are all used in the training.
The polylingual boarding school is a backbone of linguistic education, not only in Neftekamsk with more than 130,000 citizens but also for dozens of other settlements of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Note for Editors:
Over the past three years, more than 260 social projects have been implemented under the Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Bashkortostan and Rosneft. All of them improved living standards. Among them are the ice palace in Kumertau, a fitness centre with a swimming pool in the Yermekeyevsky District, the sports centre “Ufa Falcon”, the Timashevsk transport interchange, kindergartens in the Kugarchinsky District and Neftekamsk.
