RN-Shelf-Arktika, a production enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company, released about 1 million fry of chum salmon, valuable commercial fish, into Zyryanskaya River (the Kholmskiy District, Sakhalin Island).

As a part of the programme on artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources, fries were bred at a specialised salmon fish-breeding farm upon request of RN-Shelf-Arktika.

The representatives of the Federal Agency for Fishery's Sakhalin-Kuril Territorial Department and the Sakhalin branch of Glavrybvod took part in the fry release.

 For the last 5 years, RN-Shelf-Arktika released about 2.5 million fries of various valuable species of fish – coho salmon, chum salmon, and sockeye – into the Far Eastern Fisheries Basin. Throughout the history of the enterprise, about 25 million fries were released into fishery waters in various Russian regions.

Preservation of the environment for future generations is an integral part of the corporate culture of Rosneft. The Company aims to achieve leadership positions in minimizing the environmental impact and ensuring the eco-friendliness of its production and implements a number of comprehensive programmes for the preservation and restoration of natural resources. In 2020, the Environmental Development Concept 2030 was developed and approved. The Concept determines the basic principles of the Company's environmental activities in sustainability and contributes to the achievement of the Russian Federation's national environmental goals to 2030.
