The wastewater and air testing laboratory at the Kuibyshev refinery, an enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company's refining complex, has successfully passed accreditation under the General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories standard. The audit confirmed compliance of the refinery's environmental laboratory with the high requirements of the international ISO 9001 quality management system.
Preservation of the environment for future generations is an integral part of the corporate culture of Rosneft. The Company aims to achieve leadership positions in minimising the environmental impact and ensuring the eco-friendliness of its production.
The environmental laboratory of the Kuibyshev refinery is a modern analytical complex that includes a testing centre, a mobile atmospheric air monitoring station and three automated fixed stations installed in the sanitary protection zone of the enterprise. Laboratory specialists work on a 24/7 basis to monitor the quality of wastewater, circulating and natural water, bottom sediments and atmospheric air.
Highly accurate equipment — gas analysers, chromatographs for measuring the presence and concentration of substances in the atmospheric air, meteorological instruments, etc. — allows about 7,000 analyses of water on 19 indicators and about 3,000 analyses of atmospheric air on 24 indicators to be conducted monthly.
Data on the condition of the air in the plant's sanitary protection zone, generated on the basis of the results of laboratory measurements, are transmitted to a special eco-monitor installed in the city and are available to the general public.
