Samotlorneftegaz, one of Rosneft's leading production assets, has saved about 24,000 tonnes of fuel equivalent in 2022 as a result of its energy saving programme. The effect is estimated at 813 million roubles. They saved around 197 million kWh of electricity – enough to power a city of 100,000 people for 10 months without interruption.

Improvement of production asset efficiency is one of the key components of the Rosneft-2030 Strategy. The Company works systematically to rationalise the use of energy resources and reduce energy consumption, optimising electrical loads and thermal processes.

Samotlorneftegaz has implemented around 2,300 measures across its main production areas as part of its energy saving programme, including the introduction of advanced technologies and equipment.

About 1,100 high-voltage submersible electric engines, about 180 high-efficiency electric centrifugal pumps and more than 200 transformers of new modifications have been installed in the mechanised fund.

In the oil treatment and reservoir pressure maintenance system, 12 energy efficiency measures have been implemented, individually tailored to specific equipment.

In addition to scaling up proven technologies and measures, Samotlorneftegaz is constantly looking for new energy-saving engineering solutions. In 2022, the enterprise's facilities began implementing upgraded control stations for centrifugal pump units, enabling significant improvements in energy efficiency.

The automated boiler house at the Lor Yogan field central collection point has been commissioned. Special equipment automatically selects the optimum heat output mode according to the weather conditions.
