Rosneft and Penza Region signed a Cooperation Agreement

16 June 2016

Rosneft Chief Executive Officer Igor Sechin and Governor of the Penza Region Ivan Belozertsev signed a cooperation agreement to expand the use of natural gas as a motor fuel in the region at the XX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The Parties agreed to implement a joint program aimed at substitution of the gasoline and diesel fuel share in the regional market with natural gas motor fuels.

The document provides for construction of NGV refill stations, equipment of existing retail sites with compressed natural gas modules as well as for installation of filling terminals at bus depots.

Implementation of the signed Agreement will facilitate further development of the energy sector in the Penza Region due to a wider use of the natural gas fuel, the only Euro-6 compliant fuel at the moment.

Creating an environment for development of natural gas fuel production is one of the Company's Gas Strategy priorities.

Notes for editors:

Rosneft's Subsidiary Penzanefteprodukt sells motor fuel at 46 retail sites in the Penza Region. All motor fuels comply with the highest environmental standard Euro 5.

Rosneft actively develops the product range of its retail network which is already characterized by high-quality fuel with a multi-stage quality control system and developed non-fuel offer. The Company creates new products and services to promote the dialog with the consumer.

Development of the NGV refill station network in Russia is a key priority of Rosneft's Retail Strategy: using liquefied natural gas as a motor fuel delivers more kilometers per tank for car owners and significantly reduces negative environmental impact of automobile transport.
