Samaraneftegaz, one of Rosneft’s main production facilities in the Volga Region, saved more than 74 million kWh of electricity in 2023 as a result of the energy saving program, which amounted to 330 million roubles. This is more than 5% of the enterprise’s total energy consumption.
Improvement of production assets efficiency is one of the key priorities of Rosneft’s strategy. The Company’s enterprises take consistent measures to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption, as well as to optimise grid loads and heat processes.
As part of the energy saving program, Samaraneftegaz implemented almost 1,500 measures during the year, most of them at mechanised production wells and surface production infrastructure facilities. The enterprise introduces innovative equipment and technologies, installs more efficient electric submersible centrifugal pumps, uses high-voltage electric motors, energy-efficient transformers, and screw and vortex gas separators.
Samaraneftegaz is certified according to the international standard ISO 50001 “Energy Management System”. The certification confirms the transparency and objectivity of the assessment of energy efficiency, reduction of environmental impact and preservation of natural resources.
The enterprise monitors energy consumption and continuously improves the energy efficiency of its production.
